The Altaeyush project is a integrated and multidimensional community process of inclusion and socio-economic cohesion, for the strenghtening of resilience in vulnerable etnic-religious group in Hamdaniya District, in Iraq. Promoted by FOCSIV and local partners, it is an initiative of cooperation for the development also aiming to encourage the pacific cohabitation within the communities of the district, with particular attention to the christian minorities.
After a deep analysis, it has been pointed out that the etnic and cultural complexity of the area, marked by conflicts, destruction of infrastructures and insecurity, worsened by the deficiency of effective institutions. The Association has also highlighted the training opportunity and spaces of intercultural discussion, favoring the emigration of the minorities.

Thanks to local operators, the project includes the enhancement of agri-food production capacities and the access to the job market. First of all, a community cultural center has been built at Qaraqosh, a place of meeting and exchange. Mostly aimed to women, young people, minors and vulnerable people, there are activities of civic participation, training of operators and creative workhops.

The projects sustains also the creation of agricultural cooperative which promotes an sustainable agriculture and dignified jobs, based on the trust between members from various etnic-religious affiliations.
Then, courses of work-experience and female self-entrepreneurship encourage the socio-economic inclusion of the beneficiaries, selected with criteria of vulnerability within the community.

Finally, the project promotes activites of communication and sensibilisation for gender equality and the abatement of cultural and religious barriers, respecting the local traditions and reinforcing the social fabric in an area marked by profound divisions.
